Fidesz calls for an extraordinary parliamentary session to discuss the agreement to build Southstream gas pipeline crossing Hungary before the final decision is agreed upon in Moscow on 28 February.
"The Hungarian National Assembly and the deputies as well as the Hungarian public have the right to know the details of the agreement since it sets Hungary's course for decades to come, not only in terms of energy policy but with respect to foreign and security policy as well", stated Mr Navracsics.
The head of the parliamentary group of Fidesz said the party called House Speaker Katalin Szili to initiate an extraordinary session where the cabinet would report on the details of the talks between Hungary, Russia and Gazprom, the building of the Hungarian section of the Southstream pipeline and the project's possible effects on the EU's common energy policy and the Nabucco pipeline, before the final agreement is signed in Moscow on this week's Thursday.
