That is why it is still hard to remember the persecuted. The president of the Foundation for a Civic Hungary added that this occasion is not only about remembering the past, but the present, too, because Communism "is still in our lives, in our relationships, in our education,in money and in politics.' The spirit of communism also was manifest in the police brutality during the demonstrations in October 2006, said Zoltán Balog.

‘Such a government is needed that stands by and not in the way of the people', said László Kövér, Chairman of National Board of Fidesz on the memorial day of the victims of Communism. If Fidesz is trusted again to form a government, it will start to rebuild the country. All those keeping the "government of hopelessness" in power must be and will be accounted for their actions. Together we can repair everything that was ruined by the Socialists, we have the skills and willingness to do so, he said.
