The Fidesz chairman expressed his conviction that Hungary is better and is capable of much more than what it is showing for itself today. If Fidesz wins the elections, his government of national causes intends to reduce taxes, cut back bureaucracy and corruption, as well as reform public finances and the local government system, he added.
The issue of how foreign owned public utility companies work in Hungary was also raised. Viktor Orbán reminded the ambassadors that the contracts with these companies had been signed more than ten years ago, therefore they should be reassessed one by one, and where possible new agreements ought to be reached.
It is unacceptable that in Hungary millions of people have to spend 70-80 percent of their salaries on public service charges, therefore the government of national causes from the very first moment will start working on reducing the amount people have to spend on utility bills, said the Fidesz chairman.
