No Successful Policy Can be Built upon Lies
"No successful policy can be built upon lies", said Viktor Orbán on 25 March at the European People's Party's summit in Brussels. "If Hungary wants to avoid the fate of Greece, it has to reveal the actual facts as soon as possible", added the Fidesz chairman who participated in the meeting of the EPP leaders before the EU summit.

"If numbers are falsified, prime ministers lie all the time, facts are manipulated by the ministers of finance, and if the European Union does not make the necessary efforts to detect these and start procedures, then the whole of the EU faces trouble", said Viktor Orbán. Therefore whatever the costs and risks, the first step after the elections in Hungary will be the revelation of reality. We have to uncover the truth "in such a way that we don't share Greece's fate", he added. As he put it, future cannot be built without trust.

Not only is finding a solution for Greece important, but this solution should be able to secure the stability of the European Union for the future. Viktor Orbán said he would like the perspective of joining the Euro zone to stay open.

Orbán welcomed the EU's 2020 strategy. He stated that the Union wants to concentrate all its efforts on job creation, which coincides with the plans of Fidesz. He also highlighted the fact that Brussels considers national objectives to be important.
